Calculation methods & limitations
Understand what each result includes before using it. This is an independent planning website, not an official government payroll service.
Salary comparison
Projected basic = selected current basic × selected fitment. DA and HRA are percentages of the corresponding basic. Transport inputs on the home page are base allowances; the selected DA is added. Pension contribution is the selected percentage of basic plus DA. Take-home = gross earnings minus contributions, estimated tax and entered other deductions.
The home page has manual allowance inputs. The advanced salary tools apply category-based assumptions and selected deductions, so their defaults may produce different results. Reconcile inputs before comparing tools.
Example: INR 18,000 basic multiplied by 2.28 gives INR 41,040 projected basic, before allowances and deductions. This is arithmetic, not an approved revised pay cell.
Tax model
The shared tax engine models AY 2026-27 new-regime resident salary-only income: INR 75,000 standard deduction, slab tax, applicable rebate and marginal relief, surcharge and 4% cess. Annual estimated tax is divided by twelve. Other income, special-rate income, individual exemptions and actual payroll adjustments are not included. This model must be reviewed for the tax year you need.
Income Tax Department: individual return guidancePension and arrears
Choose current basic pension, or last basic salary with the simplified 50% pension model. Projected basic pension = current basic pension × fitment. Each scenario adds its selected DR and subtracts commutation from basic pension. Pension arrears = monthly difference × selected months.
Salary arrears use a fixed 60% current DA assumption, zero revised DA and a 10% employee contribution. They exclude HRA, transport, tax, increments, promotions and month-by-month rate changes. Neither arrears tool is a complete claim calculation.
Pay fixation and travel
Pay fixation compares one and two notional matrix increments. It does not use promotion dates or next-increment dates and cannot recommend an option. At matrix boundaries the tool asks for payroll review instead of inventing a cell.
LTC estimates 10-day leave encashment only: (basic + DA) ÷ 30 × 10. Family size and journey category do not change this result. Tour TA/DA uses illustrative displayed ceilings, full-day food rates and local distance; actual bills, partial days and eligibility can change reimbursement.
Check official orders
Confirm the applicable date, department, scheme and eligibility before relying on any rate. The following are official starting points; their inclusion does not mean every rate on this website has been independently verified.
Review and corrections
These tools are software-tested for selected cases, not certified payroll advice. To report a discrepancy to the site owner, include the tool name, non-sensitive sample inputs, expected result and the relevant official order. Do not send employee identifiers or a full payslip.
